We led by 11 with 6 minutes left and everything was rolling. But the Muskies went cold on offense and Memphis fought back into the game and took it from us at the end.
It felt like we had that game the whole way. A really tough loss to take.
Mack started Redford over Lyons likely as a statement to let the team know that the hardest working players in practice are going to start the games. Lyons did get significant minutes though and scored 14. Wells had a season-high 19 points and showed glimpses of greatness that give us hope for a bright future. Holloway didn't have a good shooting night, 3-12, but did finish with 12 points.
Robinson, Davis, and Taylor came off the bench and none of them recorded a point for XU. That hurts.
The loss drops the Muskies to 15-8 and are now considered a bubble team by all the "experts". None of that matters if we finish the A-10 strong. We are 6-3 in A10 play with only Temple at 6-2 with a better record. We still control our own destiny as we play at Temple Saturday night. Next up, Rhode Island at home on Wednesday.
Go Muskies!
