Students are moving in at Xavier but Eddie Ekiyor is not.  Rick Broering just broke the news.

@RickBroering Official from XU: Eddie Ekiyor is no longer enrolled at Xavier. He will enroll for the fall semester at Carleton University in Canada 

This was certainly unexpected, at least for Xavier fans.  Assuming Malcolm Bernard is on the roster this fall (not actually official yet), this leaves the Musketeers with just 10 scholarship players this year.  The number is 11 if you count Tim Stainbrook who was recently offered a scholarship, previously a walk-on.

Ekiyor was not going to be a huge part of the team his Freshman year, but was expected to get some minutes and certainly looked to be a big part of X's future so we'll wait and see what happens from here.  Go Muskies!

Chris Mack & Company got 2 commitments in the last 48 hours!  Naji Marshall and Elias Harden both committed to Xavier this week!   Both are athletic wings that can score. The high school class of 2017 is already looking bright for XU!

Thanks to Coach Mack and company, seems like most Xavier off-seasons are about reloading, not rebuilding. This off-season is no exception.  Practice for Xavier's 95th men's hoops team has already begun and new to the Musketeers this year are Freshmen Quentin Goodin, Tyrique Jones, and Eddie Ekiyor, as well as 5th-year Senior transfer, Malcolm Bernard.

Xavier has also received a verbal commitment from 3-start Small Forward Jared Ridder, out of Springfield, MO. Ridder will be a Freshman on the 2017-2018 roster and there will be at least 3 more open spots for the Xavier coaching staff to fill. Xavier has several offers out there to fill those so stay tuned. Looking forward to seeing who else X can reel in.
