Just one thing here: Xavier Basketball

Another smooth game for X and another win! Philmore had a sore wrist and didn't play but this team looks very DEEP this year. Farr and Reynolds each grab 11 rebounds off the bench, Farr getting a double-double in just 16 minutes! 

Miami played most zone defenses and Xavier made them pay, hitting 9 threes (Dee Davis was 3 for 4 from three) and crashing the glass (14 offensive rebounds), winning the battle of the boards 42 to 25.

Well done Muskies! Next up, a home game versus lowly Abilene Christian, who just joined Division I and is playing Xavier as part of the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament (which moves to the Bahamas on Thanksgiving).

After a solid win over Morehead State Friday night, the 3-0 Muskies welcome Miami. The Redhawks are a long-time foe but this marks the last game scheduled between the two so it may be a while before we see another XU/Miami game.

While X is rolling, Miami is the polar opposite. After a 12 point loss to Notre Dame, Miami managed to lose to Arizona State by 36! Ouch.

Tip-off is 8pm on Fox Sports 1 if you can't make it to Cintas. Go Muskies!  

With Justin Martin & Dee Davis out, the Muskies still pulled out the win Tuesday night. Was GREAT to see everyone contributing.

Stainbrook(12pts/9reb), Philmore(9pts/6reb), and STENGRAY(6pts/7reb) more than held their own against a very good Tennessee frontcourt. James Farr even came in a made some nice plays (4pts/3reb). Without Dee, Justin, and Landen Amos, Christon (18pts/2ast) & Randolph(5pts/4ast) played 39 minutes each and Myles Davis scored 13 pts in 21 minutes of the bench.

X shot 54% from the line...wow...but thankfully Tenn shot 37% from the line! The Muskies were all hustle Tuesday night, lead by Stenger fighting for boards in the paint and diving all over the court for loose balls.

Muskies are 2-0...next up is Morehead State Friday night at 8pm!

Dee Davis, Myles Davis, and Justin Martin are all questionable to play Tuesday night (and Landen Amos is out 4-6 weeks). Will the Muskies be able to handle a talented Tennessee team at home?

A respectable Gardner Webb team comes to Cintas Center tonight to kick off the regular season for our Muskies. What's not respectable is they are one of seemingly dozens of teams with a Bulldog as a mascot. The call themselves the "Running Bulldogs" to be marginally creative so give them that, I guess.
